YWMS’s growth is intricately linked with the village’s overall development, facilitated by the tireless efforts of the Youth Welfare Forum. Some landmark accomplishments include:
- Initiating bus services between Govindagudi and Kumbakonam
- Paving the once rocky roads into tarred highways
- Expanding the Avur telephone exchange
- Playing a key role in building a bridge over the Sullan River
- Establishing a branch library
- Constructing a Primary Health Sub-Centre through MP funds
